Overview
Held under the motto "Green Infrastructure for a Healthier and Safer Urban Future," WGIC26 provides an interdisciplinary platform for addressing urban climate challenges through green infrastructure. The congress focuses on how nature-based solutions can contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation while improving urban resilience, biodiversity, and quality of life. Particular attention will be given to innovation emerging from Mediterranean cities and its relevance to sustainable urban development worldwide.
The programme will include keynote lectures, plenary sessions, panel discussions, workshops, technical exhibitions, oral and poster presentations, and technical visits to green infrastructure projects in Barcelona. A fourth day at the University of Lleida will focus on innovation and research in urban green infrastructure. The event aims to strengthen collaboration between academia, industry, government, and practitioners working to integrate green infrastructure into urban planning and policy.
