The workshop examines the evolving role of renewable energy in building a sustainable, competitive, and secure power sector. Through expert-led lectures, interactive discussions, and group work, participants will explore how renewable energy is reshaping electricity markets, grid operations, and energy policy, with a particular focus on the European Union while also drawing on case studies from other regions.
The programme addresses topics such as the governance of the European Energy Union, the Clean Energy Package, REPowerEU, renewable energy support mechanisms, market integration, electricity market design, and Contracts for Difference (CfDs). The course is intended for professionals from energy companies, regulatory authorities, transmission and distribution system operators, consultancies, academia, and research institutions who wish to deepen their understanding of renewable energy regulation and market integration.
