A Three-Day Journey of Innovation

The International STEM Innovation Challenge returns for its third edition, bringing together over 200 students from 15 international schools across Southeast Asia. This year's theme, "Smart Cities, Sustainable Futures," encourages participants to utilize cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, IoT sensors, and renewable energy systems to address urban sustainability issues.

Challenge Tracks

Participants will work in teams of 4-5 to tackle various tracks:

  • Clean Energy: Develop solutions for renewable energy generation or energy efficiency tailored to tropical urban environments.
  • Waste Revolution: Innovate technology-driven methods for waste reduction and recycling, promoting circular economy principles.
  • Green Mobility: Reimagine urban transportation to enhance accessibility and reduce emissions.

Prizes and Opportunities

The grand prize winner will receive $5,000 in project development funding, mentorship from MIT Media Lab researchers, and a chance to present at the Asia Pacific Innovation Summit in Singapore. All participants will earn certificates recognized by the International Science Olympiad Foundation.

Registration Details

Students aged 14-18 from any international school in the Asia Pacific region can register until March 30, 2027. Individual students will be matched into diverse teams, fostering collaboration and cross-cultural exchange, which past participants have found invaluable.
