Overview

Green Public Procurement is increasingly recognized as a key mechanism for helping public bodies deliver environmental value alongside cost and quality objectives. The Green Public Procurement (GPP) Community of Practice has been established to support knowledge sharing and collaboration among professionals involved in public-sector procurement and sustainability.

The July 2026 session focuses on “Embedding GPP to deliver procurement value: Challenges, Case Studies & Actions.” Through presentations, discussion, and peer exchange, participants will examine how sustainability criteria can be incorporated throughout the procurement lifecycle, from pre-tender planning and specification development through to contract delivery and post-award implementation.

Registration

Participation is free, but advance registration is required. Interested public procurers, sustainability professionals, local authorities, government agencies, and others involved in public procurement are encouraged to visit the official Irish Green Building Council event page for more details.
