Event Overview
Join peers from various municipalities and Indigenous governments at the Climate Resilience Capacity Building Symposium 2026. This two-day event will be held at the Enjoy Centre in St. Albert, featuring a keynote address by Mayor Richard Ireland of Jasper.
Day 1 Activities
The first day will include a site visit in St. Albert and a social networking event, providing attendees with opportunities to connect and share insights.
Day 2 Highlights
The second day will kick off with the keynote address, followed by engaging activities such as:
- The Long Summer Challenge: an interactive adaptation role-playing game
- Adaptation bingo
- Small group discussions Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments will be provided.
This symposium marks the culmination of the Climate Resilience Capacity Building Program’s Collaborative Learning Stream, which has been ongoing since early 2025. It aims to equip local government staff with actionable strategies for climate adaptation and resilience planning. The event is open to all local government staff in Alberta, fostering a collaborative environment for learning and implementation of climate resilience strategies.
