Plant One Cornwall’s 2024 Impact Report: Four Years of Woodland Restoration
Plant One Cornwall’s first Impact Report celebrates four years of action to bring life back to Cornwall’s landscapes. Since 2020, the team has planted nearly 12,000 trees in 11 different places, helping restore temperate rainforests, hedgerows, and other habitats that protect biodiversity, improve soils, and store carbon. But their work doesn’t stop at planting. Each new woodland is cared for over several years to ensure trees grow strong and ecosystems thrive. They encourage natural regeneration, monitor plant and animal return, and make spaces healthier for nature and people.
Plant One Cornwall also builds community. Hundreds of volunteers have joined planting days and wellbeing events, and the group has delivered workshops and talks in schools, universities, and businesses to raise awareness about reforestation.
Support from 39 partner companies has grown fast, helping fund projects and link climate action with local impact. For those businesses, the process is straightforward: choose how many trees or areas to support, receive clear impact reporting, and involve teams or clients through planting days and site visits. Local brands, from holiday parks to tech startups, already use Plant One Cornwall to build stronger community ties, meet ESG goals, and benefit from credible sustainability storytelling. What’s Next for Plant One Cornwall
The next year is ambitious: tripling the number of trees planted to 16,000, purchasing land to create a dedicated woodland site for workshops and public access, and expanding impact tracking. For partners, that means even more opportunities for visibility and meaningful ESG metrics.
“Our goal isn’t just to plant trees but to bring back thriving, wild spaces and connect people to them,” say founders Rai Lewis and Carl Rowlison. “When people see and feel the impact, they want to protect it.”
