Field-Level Emissions Quantification: Calculates emissions at the level of individual fields and crops, incorporating specific fertilizers, their active ingredients and emission factors, rather than relying solely on generic averages.
Fertilizer Product Carbon Footprints: Includes carbon-footprint information for hundreds of fertilizers and nitrification inhibitors, allowing reductions from switching to lower-emission alternatives to reflect differences between actual products.

The Proba MRV Platform addresses a relatively specific carbon-accounting challenge: converting changes in agricultural practices into reductions that food companies can credibly recognize within their Scope 3 inventories. Fertilizer is central to this proposition because emissions arise both from fertilizer production and from nitrous oxide released after nitrogen is applied to fields. Proba's granular approach allows interventions to be connected with particular crops, fields and inputs rather than remaining at the level of generalized agricultural estimates. Beyond the MRV Platform, Proba also provides a broader infrastructure for agricultural Scope 3 reductions.
Proba is also expanding internationally. In January 2026 it raised €1.25 million from Future Food Fund, Yield Lab Europe and Value Factory Ventures to support expansion into the United States and Brazil, including work across coffee, corn, potato and sugar value chains.
