Core Features
MyGreenParts is designed to fit into existing vehicle repair workflows rather than replace them. By connecting directly with estimating and management software, it automatically identifies opportunities to substitute suitable recycled OE components for new parts, simplifying procurement while supporting sustainable repairs. Its features include:
Carbon Footprint Calculation – Calculates and reports the estimated CO₂ savings associated with using recycled vehicle parts instead of newly manufactured components, rather than producing organizational greenhouse gas inventories.
Automated Green Parts Sourcing – Searches LKQ SYNETIQ's inventory of more than 200,000 recycled OE parts as soon as a repair enquiry is created, typically returning a matching quotation within an hour.
Integration with Repair Systems – Connects with existing estimating and workshop management software through API links, enabling repairers to request quotations without changing their established workflows.
Digital Procurement Portal – Provides a centralized online portal where users can request, review, and order recycled vehicle parts for collision and mechanical repairs.
Cost and Repair Time Reduction – Helps repairers identify lower-cost recycled alternatives to new parts, costing up to 75% less while also reducing delays caused by new-part shortages.
Circular Repair Support – Encourages reuse of vehicle components that would otherwise be discarded, helping insurers and repairers incorporate circular economy principles into repair operations.
Closing Insights
MyGreenParts emerged from LKQ SYNETIQ's broader strategy to increase the reuse of vehicle components through digital technology. Instead of asking repairers to search manually for recycled parts, the platform automatically identifies suitable opportunities during the repair estimation process and integrates them into existing procurement workflows. This approach seeks to remove one of the main barriers to wider adoption of recycled OE parts: the additional time traditionally required to locate, verify, and order them.
The platform has been adopted by major insurance and repair organizations, including Allianz Insurance, which partnered with LKQ SYNETIQ to automate the sourcing of recycled parts for approved repairers. Earlier deployments of MyGreenFleet also demonstrate the operational benefits of this approach. South Wales Police, a MyGreenFleet customer since 2017, reported annual fleet maintenance savings of around £45,000, reduced vehicle downtime, and lower environmental impact through the use of recycled OE parts, while British Gas has used the platform to reduce repair costs and avoid more than 120,000 kg of CO₂ through the reuse of vehicle doors alone.
MyGreenParts further strengthens this model by integrating with existing repair management systems, providing access to more than 340,000 recycled OE parts, carbon savings reporting, and certificates of conformity for supplied components. Pricing is based on the parts purchased rather than software subscriptions, with access available to registered business users.
