Supply chain traceability and compliance platform

Onye Dike
Updated by Onye Dike on August 10th, 2026
Interu is a supply chain traceability and compliance platform developed by iov42 for businesses managing complex, multi-tier supply chains. It is particularly relevant to importers, operators, traders, compliance teams, procurement professionals, and suppliers affected by traceability and due-diligence requirements such as the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). The platform evolved from iov42’s Timber Chain solution and is designed around securely collecting, verifying, organizing, and sharing evidence between supply-chain participants. Rather than serving as a general ESG platform, Interu focuses on establishing defensible product provenance and due diligence, including for forest-risk commodities such as timber, coffee, rubber, palm oil, and other regulated products.

Core Features

Interu is presented as an end-to-end traceability solution, connecting information from suppliers and source locations through products and deliveries. Its permissioned distributed-ledger technology helps establish data integrity while allowing organizations to control who can access commercially sensitive information. Its main capabilities include:

  • End-to-End Traceability: Traces supply chains back to source, with visibility available at organizational, product, delivery, and individual-item levels.

  • EUDR Due Diligence: Organizes transaction records, checks, risk conclusions, and mitigation evidence, while pre-populating Due Diligence Statements for submission through Interu.

  • Supplier Collaboration: Suppliers can receive and share required information through their own free Interu account or provide information through bulk uploads.

  • Risk Assessment: Provides standard and configurable risk assessments, automated analysis of selected data points, and reuse of existing assessments where appropriate.

  • Geospatial Evidence: Supports coordinates and polygons, mapping of source locations, and third-party geospatial analysis. Interu has a live integration with Orbify for deforestation analysis reports.

  • System Integration: An API-first architecture connects Interu with ERP, WMS, MIS, and other internal systems as well as external databases, including the EU’s TRACES NT.

Closing Insights

Interu grew out of Timber Chain, which iov42 launched in 2020 to help timber importers address EU Timber Regulation requirements. Its subsequent development incorporated input from industries dealing with high-risk commodities, extending the underlying traceability model to broader regulatory and commercial applications. It has been used to meet diverse supply chain needs, from improving transparency at timber supplier Carl Ronnow to serving as the preferred traceability platform of DoubleHelix Technologies, a supply chain due-diligence and verification specialist.

Interu is also supported by specialist partners that can provide GIS analysis, supplier audits, risk assessments, and product testing. Its approach to automation is notable: iov42 describes AI as a “co-pilot rather than decision maker,” keeping legally consequential decisions with users. For businesses facing EUDR and related traceability obligations, this combination of technology, integrations, and implementation support addresses both the data and operational sides of supply-chain due diligence.
