Atmen focuses on product certification and traceability. It ingests granular operational data from industrial assets and supply chains, aligns that data with the requirements of the selected certification scheme, and maintains the supporting evidence throughout production, allocation and audit. Key capabilities include:

  • Carbon Intensity Tracking: Calculates and monitors the carbon intensity and sustainability attributes of renewable fuels and other products using granular operational and supply-chain data rather than annual estimates alone.

  • Mass Balance & Traceability: Tracks sustainability attributes through product batches using mass-balance principles, providing an auditable record of where inputs originated and how attributes move through the supply chain.

  • Automated Data Collection: Connects industrial assets to pre-built data pipelines and can process supplier documentation including PDFs, Excel files, sustainability declarations and weighbridge tickets, extracting relevant information into structured records.

  • Certification Management: Manages certificate issuance, transfers and cancellations and connects with certificate registries through APIs or other interfaces. Atmen supports certification schemes including ISCC EU and REDcert.

  • Compliance Optimization: Models how sustainability attributes and renewable electricity can be allocated across batches and offtakers. For RFNBO production, for example, users can optimize green-power matching while accounting for contractual and regulatory constraints.

  • Audit Management: Converts operational records into structured audit trails, provides scheme-specific requirements and checklists, and allows external auditors to access supporting evidence remotely and follow audit progress.

Atmen was founded in 2023 as Point Twelve by former E.ON colleagues Flore de Durfort, Quentin Cangelosi and Erika Degoute, who identified certification as an increasingly important but heavily manual component of clean fuel markets. Its role is to bridge industrial operations and certification, organizing the underlying data into auditable records and product claims. Major use cases include Hy2gen, which used Atmen in the certification of Germany’s first CertifHy-certified RFNBO e-methane facility. Atmen has also partnered with Schneider Electric and Siemens to connect industrial automation and operational data with digital certification workflows for hydrogen and Power-to-X projects.

Atmen raised €5 million in seed funding in May 2025 and became the first officially recognized Compliance Technology Provider for the CertifHy EU RFNBO Voluntary Scheme that month. It has also obtained ISO 27001 certification and, reports deployments across industrial sites in nine countries.

Clean fuel certifications are almost certain to become more important as renewable hydrogen, e-fuels and other low-carbon fuels scale and regulatory requirements become more demanding. In the EU, frameworks such as RED III increasingly require producers to demonstrate sustainability, traceability and greenhouse-gas performance through independent certification. Atmen therefore addresses a growing need for digital infrastructure that can turn increasingly complex operational and supply-chain data into the evidence required for certification.
