Airis is the product of several years of Eoliann’s research into satellite data, AI and physical climate risk. The platform, launched in 2026, consolidates its previous R&D and field experience into a single system for analysing exposure and vulnerability, quantifying direct and indirect damage and prioritising resilience measures.

Eoliann’s earlier work provides practical context for Airis. Terna, Italy’s national transmission system operator, worked with the company on a proof of concept for mapping flood hazards across the Italian electricity transmission grid. Eoliann also lists organizations across renewable energy, technology, financial services and the public sector among clients with which it has proven its technology.

Airis also has a clear European regulatory angle. Eoliann presents it as supporting infrastructure operators responding to the EU Critical Entities Resilience (CER) Directive, particularly requirements around natural-risk assessment, future scenarios, vulnerable assets and resilience planning. Its underlying technology has European coverage and was developed with support from the European Space Agency.
