Sustainability certification for biomass and biofuels
2BS (Biomass, Biofuel Sustainability) is a French non-profit association established in 2012 by representatives of the biomass and biofuels industries in response to the EU Renewable Energy Directive. It develops and manages sustainability certification schemes that help economic operators demonstrate compliance with European requirements and place certified products on the EU market. Its flagship 2BSvs scheme covers biofuels and has expanded to biogas, waste and residues, while additional offerings address food and feed and, more recently, wood energy. 2BS also provides GHG calculation and mapping tools and works with independent certification bodies to conduct audits and issue certifications.

The National Forestry Authority is a semi-autonomous Ugandan government body responsible for the sustainable management of the country's Central Forest Reserves. Established under Uganda's National Forestry and Tree Planting legislation and formally launched in April 2004, the NFA operates under the Ministry of Water and Environment. Its responsibilities include forest conservation, restoration, plantation development, biodiversity protection, forest resource management and the provision of forestry products and services. The authority also works with local communities through collaborative forest management arrangements intended to combine conservation with livelihood benefits. NFA is a partner in forest restoration initiatives with WWF Uganda and VELUX, including projects in Central Forest Reserves in the Albertine Rift focused on restoring degraded forests, increasing carbon stocks and strengthening biodiversity protection.
Standard Nuclear is a U.S. advanced nuclear fuel company focused primarily on the design, engineering and manufacturing of TRISO fuel for advanced reactors, including small modular reactors and microreactors. The system is intended for applications including remote sites, military installations, data centers, hospitals, and other facilities that require reliable distributed power. Radiant is working with U.S. regulators and the Department of Energy as it progresses toward reactor testing and commercialization, with initial customer deployments targeted from 2028.
Futureproofed bvba, part of Sweco Belgium, is a Belgian climate technology and sustainability consultancy founded in 1999 by Serge de Gheldere. It combines advisory services with SaaS platforms that help businesses measure, reduce and report emissions and municipalities develop, implement and monitor climate plans through its Futureproofed for Cities platform. Sweco acquired the company in 2022, expanding its access to engineering and implementation expertise.

Its solutions serve cities, transport networks, ships, forests and high-emitting sites, helping users identify emissions sources, monitor decarbonization measures and generate data for reporting and climate finance.
NEXQT is a French climate technology company founded in 2021 by Fouzi Benkhelifa, Phil DeCola, Philippe Ciais and Nicolas Mégel. It develops an AI-enabled decision-support platform for municipalities and other local stakeholders managing territorial decarbonization. NEXQT continuously collects and processes more than 70 activity-data sources, using geographic intelligence to map energy consumption and GHG emissions at municipality, neighbourhood and address level. Its tools help users identify reduction opportunities, monitor climate plans and evaluate interventions across buildings, mobility and other urban activities. Initial pilots included Paris and Los Angeles, with subsequent deployments extending to other French territories and internationally.
