The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is a public university based in Sydney, Australia, with a strong focus on technology, applied research, innovation and industry collaboration. Established in its current form in 1988, UTS conducts research across engineering, science, energy, sustainability, digital technologies and other fields. Its researchers work with companies and public-sector organizations to translate academic research into practical applications. In sustainability and climate-related research, UTS is involved in areas including emissions reduction, clean energy, advanced materials, circular economy and industrial decarbonization. Its Catalysis and Process Engineering group is developing catalytic methane oxidation technology intended to reduce low-concentration methane emissions from mining and other industrial sources.
