The Silver Institute

The Silver Institute is a nonprofit international association representing participants across the global silver industry, including mining companies, refiners, bullion suppliers, manufacturers and wholesalers of silver investment products. Established in 1971 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., the organization promotes understanding of silver markets, applications, and economic importance. Its activities include collecting and publishing data on silver supply and demand, supporting research into existing and emerging uses of silver, and promoting market development. The Institute also publishes industry research, including the annual World Silver Survey, which provides data and analysis on global production, consumption, investment and industrial demand. Silver's growing role in solar photovoltaics, electronics, electric vehicles and other energy-transition technologies has made the Institute's market research increasingly relevant to clean energy supply chains.
