Swedish Energy Agency

The Swedish Energy Agency, known in Swedish as Energimyndigheten, is a government authority responsible for matters relating to Sweden’s energy system, energy supply, energy use and energy security. The agency monitors and analyses energy markets, supports research and innovation, administers funding programmes, and promotes Sweden’s transition to a fossil-free and resilient energy system. Its work covers areas such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, industrial decarbonization, electricity preparedness, sustainable fuels, and official energy statistics. It also supports projects through programmes such as Industriklivet, which helps Swedish industry reduce emissions and develop climate-transition technologies.
