Sustainable Resources Verification Scheme GmbH (SURE) is a Germany-based certification organization headquartered in Bonn and established to administer sustainability certification systems for biomass used in energy generation. The organization was developed jointly by REDcert GmbH and Bioenergy Europe to support compliance with the EU Renewable Energy Directive for solid and gaseous biomass supply chains. SURE focuses on traceability, greenhouse gas accounting, mass balance verification, and sustainability compliance for biomass used in heating and electricity production. Its SURE-EU certification scheme is used by biomass producers, traders, processors, and energy companies across European bioenergy markets.
