Software Sustainability Institute (SSI)

The Software Sustainability Institute (SSI) is a UK-based non-profit organization working to improve the sustainability, quality, and longevity of research software. Supported by a network of UK universities, the Institute works with researchers, software engineers, funders, and policy makers to promote better software practices across the research community. SSI provides training, fellowships, community programmes, and other practical resources that help research software become more sustainable, reproducible, and maintainable. It is funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) through the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), with the University of Edinburgh acting as the lead host institution.
