Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT)

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, known as SMMT, is the main trade association representing the UK automotive industry. It supports manufacturers, suppliers and mobility-related businesses by providing industry data, policy analysis, advocacy and market intelligence. SMMT is particularly relevant to the net zero transition because it tracks vehicle registrations, electric vehicle uptake, manufacturing trends and the impact of UK transport policy, including the Zero Emission Vehicle mandate.
