QuantumScape is a US battery technology company developing solid-state lithium-metal batteries, primarily for electric vehicle applications. Its technology uses a solid ceramic electrolyte separator designed to enable faster charging, longer battery life, and improved safety compared with conventional lithium-ion battery architectures. The company is important to the net-zero transition because battery performance remains a key factor in the adoption of electric vehicles, grid flexibility and wider electrification.
