Ordnance Survey is Great Britain’s national mapping service and a government-owned geospatial data organization. It provides authoritative mapping, location intelligence, and geographic datasets used by government, businesses, infrastructure operators, emergency services, and consumers. Its data support land-use planning, transport, utilities, environmental management, and climate adaptation. In the flood-readiness model developed with Snowflake, Ordnance Survey building and location datasets helped identify properties exposed to flood risk, including buildings outside existing flood-defence coverage. Ordnance Survey Limited is incorporated in England and Wales, with shares 100% owned by the UK Secretary of State for the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.
