Motherson

Motherson is a global automotive components and manufacturing group serving vehicle manufacturers through businesses spanning wiring harnesses, modules and polymer products, vision systems, electronics, lighting, precision metals and other engineered components. Founded in India in 1975 by Vivek Chaand Sehgal and Swaran Lata Sehgal, the group entered automotive manufacturing during the 1980s and expanded internationally through organic growth and acquisitions. Motherson operates more than 475 facilities across 47 countries and employs more than 205,000 people. Its principal listed entity is Samvardhana Motherson International Limited, which trades on Indian stock exchanges. The company increasingly works on lightweighting, recycled materials, and other technologies relevant to lower-impact vehicle manufacturing.
