International Living Future Institute (ILFI)

The International Living Future Institute (ILFI) is a U.S. non-profit organisation driving regenerative design in the built environment. Founded in 2009, ILFI developed the Living Building Challenge, one of the most rigorous sustainability standards globally. It also manages the Declare product label, Zero Carbon certification, and programs promoting social equity and ecological restoration. ILFI empowers architects, developers, and policymakers to design buildings that actively restore nature and improve human well-being. Its mission is to catalyse a future where the built environment operates as a positive, life-supporting system for people and the planet.
