Institut technologique FCBA — standing for Forêt, Cellulose, Bois-construction, Ameublement — is a French industrial technical institute serving the forestry, cellulose, wood construction, and furniture sectors. Formed in 2007 through the merger of AFOCEL and CTBA, which served different parts of the forest and wood-products industries, FCBA conducts applied research, testing, certification, training, and technical consulting across the forest-wood value chain. The institute operates laboratories and research facilities focused on sustainable construction, biomaterials, forestry management, wood engineering, circular economy practices, and environmental performance assessment. FCBA also contributes to European research collaborations and standardization initiatives related to sustainable forest-based industries.
