Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI)

Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) is a nonprofit organization providing independent third-party certification, verification and professional credentialing for sustainability standards. Founded in January 2008 with support from the U.S. Green Building Council, it was originally established to independently oversee LEED project certification and professional credentials. GBCI now administers or supports programs including LEED, TRUE, EDGE, PEER, SITES, WELL and Parksmart. Its TRUE certification evaluates zero waste performance, including waste diversion, material management and operational practices. GBCI operates internationally with offices and activities across the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
