Government of Japan

The Government of Japan is the central public authority of Japan, responsible for national policy, public administration, diplomacy, development cooperation and international partnerships. In the climate and sustainability context, Japan supports initiatives linked to resilient infrastructure, disaster risk reduction, energy transition and climate adaptation, including through cooperation with multilateral institutions such as the World Bank. In the Madagascar urban resilience project, Japan is relevant because it finances the Quality Infrastructure Investment Partnership, which provides technical and analytical support for resilient and high-quality infrastructure.
