Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ)

The Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) is a global coalition of financial institutions committed to aligning capital flows with net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Launched in 2021 ahead of COP26, GFANZ brings together sector-specific alliances covering banks, insurers, asset managers, asset owners, and financial service providers. It supports members in developing science-based transition plans, mobilizing climate finance, and integrating climate risk into financial decision-making. GFANZ operates as a coordination platform rather than a regulatory authority and works closely with international standard-setters, multilateral institutions, and climate initiatives.
