Form Energy

Form Energy is a US energy technology company developing long-duration energy storage systems intended to support reliable electricity grids with growing shares of renewable generation. Its first commercial technology is an iron-air battery designed to store electricity for approximately 100 hours, considerably longer than conventional lithium-ion systems typically deployed for short-duration grid balancing. Founded in 2017 by energy storage specialists, the company operates research and engineering facilities alongside Form Factory 1 in Weirton, West Virginia, where it manufactures its battery systems. Form Energy works with utilities, technology companies and renewable developers on large-scale storage projects and has raised more than $2 billion in equity financing as it expands manufacturing and commercial deployment.
