FMO

FMO, the Netherlands Development Finance Company, is the Dutch entrepreneurial development bank and a major impact investor in emerging and developing economies. Founded in 1970, FMO provides financing to companies, projects, and financial institutions where commercial capital may be insufficient. Its main investment sectors are energy, financial institutions, and agribusiness, food and forestry. FMO operates as a public-private development bank, with 51% of its shares held by the Dutch government and the remaining 49% owned by commercial banks, trade unions, and other private-sector shareholders.
