Cyclic Materials

Founded in 2021, Cyclic Materials is a Canadian cleantech firm headquartered in Kingston, Ontario. It specialises in recycling rare-earth elements (REEs) and other critical materials from end-of-life products such as electric-vehicle motors, wind-turbine generators and electronic waste. The company’s proprietary processes, MagCycle℠ and REEPure℠, allow recovery of high-purity REOs and feedstocks for magnet production, offering up to ~61% lower CO₂ emissions and ~95% less water usage compared with traditional mining. The firm has attracted investment from BMW i Ventures, Microsoft’s Climate Innovation Fund, Hitachi Ventures and others. It is building commercial scale operations in North America and planning global expansion.
