Convergence (Finance)

Convergence (sometimes called Convergence Blended Finance) is a global non-profit network and platform dedicated to mobilising private sector capital into emerging markets and developing economies via blended finance, that is, strategically mixing public, philanthropic, and private investment to advance sustainable development outcomes. Founded around 2015 (the formal non-profit establishment supported by Canada’s international development agency), it serves as a data-, intelligence- and deal-flow hub: providing a library of blended finance tools, a marketplace for investors, and analytical insights covering hundreds of transactions and billions of dollars of capital deployed. Convergence helps connect public/government entities, philanthropy, commercial investors, and development organisations to construct blended finance deals that might not happen in purely private markets.
