Aspen Technology

Aspen Technology (AspenTech) is an industrial software company founded in 1981 from the MIT-sponsored Advanced System for Process Engineering (ASPEN) Project, which sought to commercialize process engineering research for industry. The company develops software that helps organizations design, operate, and maintain complex industrial assets across sectors including energy, chemicals, mining, pharmaceuticals, and utilities. Its portfolio spans process simulation, manufacturing and supply chain optimization, asset performance management, industrial AI, and digital grid solutions. Since 2022, AspenTech has operated as an Emerson-owned subsidiary following the combination of Emerson's industrial software businesses with AspenTech.
