Skills Promotion and Awareness for Regenerative Knowledge (BIOSPARK)
Skills Promotion and Awareness for Regenerative Knowledge (BIOSPARK) is an EU-funded project developing education, training and professional skills for the circular bioeconomy. Coordinated by the University of Eastern Finland, it runs from October 2026 to March 2029 with €999,571.25 in funding from the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking under Horizon Europe. Building on BIObec and existing university networks, BIOSPARK aims to establish a network of 27 Bio-Based Education Centres covering every EU member state. Its activities include developing and testing curricula, supporting lifelong learning and strengthening cooperation between education providers, researchers, industry and public authorities. It places particular emphasis on countries with lower research and innovation capacity, seeking to expand access to training and knowledge exchange.
