Emissions & Generation Resource Integrated Database (eGRID)

Emissions & Generation Resource Integrated Database (eGRID) is a database maintained by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that documents the environmental characteristics of almost all electricity generated in the United States. It combines power plant emissions and generation data to provide information on greenhouse gases, air pollutants, electricity output, fuel mix, and emission rates per unit of electricity. Data are available for individual plants and aggregated by state, grid region, and nationwide. Organizations use eGRID emission factors to estimate emissions associated with purchased electricity, including location-based Scope 2 emissions, support carbon accounting, and compare the environmental performance of electricity generation across regions.
