Biogas

Biogas is a gaseous fuel produced when microorganisms break down organic materials, such as food waste, manure, or wastewater, without oxygen through a process called anaerobic digestion. It consists mainly of methane and carbon dioxide and can be used to generate heat and electricity. After purification to remove carbon dioxide and other impurities, it becomes biomethane, also called renewable natural gas.
