The EPR Stewardship Programs Foundations + Forum Series is a virtual learning initiative aimed at enhancing understanding of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) stewardship organizations in British Columbia. This series is designed to build foundational knowledge, offer ongoing updates, and provide practical guidance for managing EPR programs within communities.

Program Structure

Each session will spotlight a specific stewardship program, featuring two back-to-back parts. Participants can choose to attend one or both segments, catering to their interests and needs. The upcoming session will focus on Recycle BC, detailing its operations and contributions to waste management in the province.

Agenda

  • Part 1: Foundations (10:00 AM - 10:45 AM)
    This segment is tailored for newcomers, including industry members, elected officials, and solid waste management committee members. It will cover the basics of EPR, including:

    • Overview of the program
    • Responsibilities within the EPR framework
    • Available resources and how to apply for new collection depots
    • Common misconceptions and fun facts.
  • Part 2: Forum (10:50 AM - 11:30 AM)
    Aimed at site staff and program managers, this part will address:

    • Updates and changes to the program
    • Innovations and future improvements
    • Responses to pre-submitted questions
    • Collaborative problem-solving with peers.

Participation
