Event Overview
The Carbon Literacy training for Greater Manchester VCSEs - CLAD 2026 is set to take place on November 11, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the Manchester Metropolitan University Business School. This workshop is an opportunity for staff, volunteers, and members of the Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector to enhance their understanding of climate change and its impacts.
Participants will engage in a comprehensive curriculum designed to cover the science of climate change, recognize its local and global effects, and identify actionable steps for mitigation and adaptation. The training will also focus on developing strategic action plans to inspire change within organizations and communities.
This event is part of the International Carbon Literacy Action Day (CLAD) 2026, and is supported by a network of local organizations, including Manchester City Council and Groundwork GM. Attendees will not only gain valuable insights but will also contribute to the Manchester Carbon Literate City initiative, which aims to create 85,000 Carbon Literate individuals in the region.
Refreshments will be provided, and participants are invited to a People Planet Pint gathering at 5 PM to celebrate the event and network with fellow attendees. Each participant will receive a globally-recognized certificate upon completion, affirming their Carbon Literacy.
Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged. For more details and to secure your spot, visit the Carbon Literacy Project event page.
