Our principle

Cut through the green tape

We don’t push agendas. At Net Zero Compare, we cut through the hype and fear to deliver the straightforward facts you need for making informed decisions on green products and services. Whether motivated by compliance, customer demands, or a real passion for the environment, you’re welcome here. We provide reliable information—why you seek it is not our concern.

Natcap, a pioneering nature intelligence company based in London, has announced a collaboration with the Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool (IBAT) to enhance its platform. This partnership equips Natcap clients with advanced biodiversity datasets, empowering businesses to evaluate nature-related risks and comply with evolving environmental regulations.

Founded by Oxford University professors in 2018, Natcap focuses on helping businesses integrate nature into their decision-making processes. This approach aims to reduce risk while uncovering opportunities linked to sustainable practices. Earlier this year, the company secured $10 million in Series A funding, backed by notable investors such as André Hoffmann and Norinchukin Capital.

What Is IBAT?

IBAT, operated by an alliance including BirdLife International, Conservation International, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and the UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre, is a global leader in biodiversity data. It provides essential datasets, such as:

  • The World Database on Protected Areas

  • The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species

  • The World Database of Key Biodiversity Areas

These datasets are updated regularly to support organizations in minimizing their environmental impact.

Key Stakeholder Insights

Beccy Wilebore, Chief Science Officer at Natcap, emphasized the significance of the collaboration:

“IBAT’s datasets are a valuable addition to our platform. Their reliability will help our clients make informed decisions for nature and their businesses.”

Ed Ellis, Head of IBAT, highlighted the potential for widespread impact:

““I’m delighted by the collaboration between IBAT and Natcap. The incorporation of protected areas, Key Biodiversity Areas and threatened species into Natcap’s nature intelligence platform will help businesses better understand their potential impact on the natural world, and help expand the role that biodiversity data can have in guiding decision making across different sectors and industries.”

Driving Business Value Through Sustainability

This partnership demonstrates the increasing importance of biodiversity data in shaping business strategies. As regulations tighten and markets prioritize sustainability, businesses now have tools to align their operations with both compliance needs and long-term profitability.
