Beko Unveils 2024 Integrated Report, Reinforcing Commitment to Sustainability

Beko, a global leader in home appliances, has released its 2024 Integrated Report, themed around Carl Sagan’s iconic "pale blue dot" metaphor. The report underscores Earth’s fragility and humanity’s shared responsibility to protect the planet.

Amid a broader scaling back of sustainability across corporate agendas, the report reaffirms Beko’s commitment to advancing sustainable living. The company aims to use 100% green electricity in manufacturing by 2030 and has already extended the life of more than 114,000 appliances through its global refurbishment network in 2024.

Beko has consistently ranked as a sustainability front-runner. It secured the top industry score in the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment for the sixth year running and was named the most sustainable company in its sector by TIME Magazine and Statista, ranking 17th globally.

The report, Beko’s first of its kind, follows international standards including Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). It incorporates a double materiality assessment, evaluating how sustainability impacts Beko’s business and how its operations affect society and the environment.

In a press statement issued by PR Newswire, CEO Hakan Bulgurlu emphasized the company’s commitment: “We’re pursuing 100% green electricity, cutting emissions across the supply chain, and scaling our refurbishment efforts. Sustainability is embedded into every decision we make.”

Beko's roadmap to net zero by 2050 includes a nearly 30-fold increase in renewable energy capacity over four years, now totaling 90.2 MWp. The company also links executive compensation to environmental targets and has integrated circular economy principles across its operations.
