Event Overview

The Pop-up Recycling & Free Swap Event is designed to foster community engagement and promote sustainable practices among Vancouver residents. Scheduled for July 26, 2025, from 10 AM to 1 PM at King George Secondary School, this event combines two initiatives: a recycling drive and a free swap event.

Recycling Details

Participants can bring unwanted electronics, small appliances, clothing, and more to be recycled responsibly. This initiative supports the City of Vancouver's Zero Waste Strategy, aiming to reduce landfill waste and promote recycling.

Free Swap Participation

The free swap allows attendees to:

  1. Swap: Drop off items for others to choose from and select new-to-you items.

  2. Donate: Donate items without taking anything in return.

  3. Take: Everyone is welcome to take items home, even if they do not have anything to donate.

Guidelines for Participation:

  • Items should fit in a regular reusable grocery bag and be in clean, good working order.

  • Participants are encouraged to bring 1-2 items and can take as many as they like.

  • Check-in your donated items upon arrival, browse the swap tables, and check out your selected items with event organizers.

This event is a great opportunity for community members to engage in sustainable practices while finding new items and reducing waste. For more information, visit the City of Vancouver's event page or the Zero Waste Drop-off Events page.
