Our principle

Cut through the green tape

We don't push agendas. At Net Zero Compare, we cut through the hype and fear to deliver the straightforward facts you need for making informed decisions on green products and services. Whether motivated by compliance, customer demands, or a real passion for the environment, you’re welcome here. We provide reliable information—why you seek it is not our concern.

Lagardère Travel Retail has joined a groundbreaking initiative to reduce carbon emissions in the retail supply chain, becoming one of nine major French retailers collaborating under the newly launched LESS (Low Emission Sustainable Sourcing) program. Coordinated by Perifem and the Fédération du Commerce et de la Distribution (FCD), this collective effort aims to harmonize carbon emissions reporting and drive more sustainable sourcing practices across the industry.

LESS marks a first-of-its-kind alliance in the food and non-food retail sector, with participants including Carrefour, Auchan, E.Leclerc, Lidl, Groupe Casino, METRO France, Groupement Mousquetaires, and Coopérative U. With over 90% of retail’s greenhouse gas emissions stemming from indirect Scope 3 emissions, the initiative targets the value chain—where the most significant impact can be made.

Central to the program is the OpenClimat platform, which will serve as a unified portal for suppliers to report their carbon reduction strategies. This shared tool simplifies data collection and increases transparency, allowing retailers to gain detailed insights and drive more effective decarbonization strategies.

A technical expert committee comprising Deloitte, Sweep, and FoodPilot, will support the initiative, ensuring methodological and technical rigor.

“This unprecedented collaboration reflects our shared ambition to lead sustainable sourcing and set new industry standards for environmental responsibility,” said Lucio Rossetto, COO Europe & CSR at Lagardère, in a press statement.

The LESS platform is set to launch on October 15 and is open to all French and European retailers and foodservice operators. The initiative aligns with Lagardère’s PEPS CSR strategy, particularly its Planet pillar, and supports its goal of reducing Scope 3 emissions by 25% by 2030, in line with Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) criteria.
